Meyis informs: the rules for employing foreign workers in Poland are changing. The new Act on the Conditions of Permissibility of Employing Foreigners in the Territory of the Republic of Poland introduces numerous obligations and stricter penalties for companies.
📅 The new regulations will apply from 1 June 2025.
What will change?
✅ It will no longer be possible to legally employ foreigners staying in Poland on a visa issued by another Schengen country.
✅ Employment will only be possible with a valid Polish residence permit.
✅ Employers must adapt their procedures – documents from other EU countries will no longer be accepted.
✅ Full digitisation of procedures – applications for work permits and other documents will only be accepted online.
✅ New information obligations: submitting copies of contracts to authorities, faster reporting of changes, informing the voivode about termination of employment.
✅ Restrictions on civil law contracts in favour of employment contracts.
✅ Fines: from PLN 3,000 up to PLN 50,000 for illegal employment, and up to PLN 6,000 per person in case of additional violations.
⚠️ Failure to update documents or employing foreigners under conditions other than those specified in the permit may be considered illegal employment.
