Employment contract types & advisory
Polish law offers three main forms and they are not interchangeable. An employment contract (umowa o pracę) gives the fullest protection and carries the highest employer cost. A mandate contract (umowa zlecenie) is more flexible but has its own social-insurance treatment. A specific-task contract (umowa o dzieło) is limited to defined, result-based work and, used for what is really ongoing employment, can be reclassified later with contributions charged retrospectively. We look at how the work is actually performed and advise on the form that matches it.
