Erasmus+ traineeships in Warsaw for participants from Bulgaria
Vocational schools and universities in Bulgaria can send learners, students, graduates and staff to our office in central Warsaw. We prepare what your application to HRDC and the Learning Agreement need, and participants work with us in English.
- Sofia to Warsaw: the 500–1,999 km travel band
- ≈ 1,075 km
- The monthly EU range for students, plus €150 on a traineeship
- €292–606
- An ID card is enough; stays over 3 months are registered
- No visa
How it works for you
- Your school or university applies to the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), the Bulgarian National Agency. We sign a letter of intent for the application and send our organisation details.
- For learners, students and staff alike, Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna are all in the 500–1,999 km travel band to Warsaw: €309 per participant, or €417 with green travel.
- Bulgaria and Poland are in the same cost group, so students and recent graduates get the medium EU range: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship.
- No visa: Bulgarian citizens travel with an ID card or passport. A stay of more than 3 months is registered in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw.
- Participants bring the European Health Insurance Card. Accident and liability insurance at the workplace is required; we expect it from the sending organisation, and the Learning Agreement records it.
- The working language is English, at the level each track recommends (A2–B2); no Polish is needed outside the Polish translation track.
What we are asked about this
01 Which National Agency funds an Erasmus+ traineeship from Bulgaria?
The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) manages Erasmus+ in Bulgaria for every sector, including vocational education and training and higher education. Your school or university applies to HRDC, and we provide the letter of intent and our organisation details.
02 How much travel support do participants from Bulgaria get?
For learners, students and staff alike it follows the air distance from your school or university to Warsaw, measured with the European Commission’s distance calculator. Sofia (≈ 1,075 km), Plovdiv (≈ 1,155 km) and Varna (≈ 1,125 km) are in the 500–1,999 km band: €309 for the return journey, or €417 with green travel, which also pays up to 6 travel days instead of 2.
03 What monthly grant do students from Bulgaria get in Poland?
Both countries are in the group with lower living costs, so the medium EU range applies: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship and €250 a month more for students with fewer opportunities. HRDC and your university set the exact amounts.
04 Do participants from Bulgaria need a visa for Poland?
No. An ID card or passport is enough. A stay of more than 3 months is registered in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw, no later than the day after 3 months from entry. Participants bring the European Health Insurance Card for healthcare.
