Erasmus+ traineeships in Warsaw for participants from Portugal
Vocational schools and universities in Portugal can send learners, students, graduates and staff to our office in central Warsaw. We sign what your National Agency application and the Learning Agreement need, and participants work with us in English.
- Lisbon to Warsaw: the 2,000–2,999 km travel band
- ≈ 2,760 km
- The monthly EU range for students, plus €150 on a traineeship
- €225–550
- An ID card is enough; stays over 3 months are registered
- No visa
How it works for you
- Your school or university applies to the Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Educação e Formação, the Portuguese National Agency for education and training. We sign a letter of intent for the application.
- Travel support for learners, students and staff: Lisbon and Porto are in the 2,000–2,999 km band to Warsaw (€395, or €535 with green travel); Madeira and the Azores are in the 3,000–3,999 km band (€580, or €785).
- Portugal is in the medium-cost group and Poland in the lower-cost one, so students and recent graduates get the lower EU range: €225–550 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship. Students at universities in Madeira and the Azores get €786 a month instead.
- No visa: Portuguese citizens travel with an ID card or passport. A stay of more than 3 months is registered in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw.
- Participants bring the European Health Insurance Card. Accident and liability insurance at the workplace is required; we expect it from the sending organisation, and the Learning Agreement records it.
- Participants work in English at the level their track recommends (A2–B2); Polish is needed only on the Polish translation track.
What we are asked about this
01 Which National Agency funds an Erasmus+ traineeship from Portugal?
The Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Educação e Formação manages Erasmus+ for higher education, vocational education and training, school and adult education in Portugal. Your school or university applies to it; we provide the letter of intent and our organisation details.
02 How much travel support do participants from Portugal get?
For learners, students and staff alike it follows the air distance from your school or university to Warsaw, measured with the European Commission’s distance calculator. Lisbon (≈ 2,760 km) and Porto (≈ 2,550 km) are in the 2,000–2,999 km band: €395 for the return journey, or €535 with green travel. Funchal (≈ 3,730 km) and Ponta Delgada (≈ 3,925 km) are in the 3,000–3,999 km band: €580, or €785. When the band covers less than 70% of the real cost, your school can ask the National Agency for exceptional costs: 80% of the eligible cost.
03 What monthly grant do students from Portugal get in Poland?
Poland has lower living costs than Portugal, so students and recent graduates get the lower EU range: €225–550 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship and €250 a month more for students with fewer opportunities. Students at universities in Madeira and the Azores, outermost regions, get €786 a month instead, without those top-ups. The National Agency and your university publish the exact amounts.
04 Do participants from Portugal need a visa for Poland?
No. Citizens of Portugal enter Poland with an ID card or passport. For a stay of more than 3 months they register it in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw, no later than the day after 3 months from entry. They bring the European Health Insurance Card for healthcare.
