How long can an Erasmus+ traineeship last?
University students and recent graduates: 2 to 12 months, or 5 to 30 days in a blended short mobility. VET learners: 10 to 89 days, or 90 to 365 days on ErasmusPro. Staff job shadowing: 2 to 60 days. Recent graduates must finish within a year of graduating.
Students and recent graduates
A traineeship in higher education lasts 2 to 12 months of physical mobility, not counting travel time. Students who cannot go for that long can combine 5 to 30 days abroad with a compulsory online part, in a blended short mobility.
Recent graduates are selected by their university in their last year of study and must complete the traineeship within one year of graduating. Their traineeship counts towards the 12 months allowed in the study cycle in which they apply.
A holiday at the host organisation does not interrupt a traineeship: the grant continues and the holiday counts towards the minimum length.
VET learners
A short placement lasts 10 to 89 days. A long one, ErasmusPro, lasts 90 to 365 days, with a strong work-based part and an individual learning programme for each learner, at a VET provider, a company or another organisation.
Recent graduates of a VET programme, former apprentices included, can take part up to 12 months after graduating, longer by the time spent in compulsory civil or military service. Group mobility (2 to 30 days) must take place at a hosting VET provider, so a company such as MEYİS cannot host it.
Staff
Job shadowing for VET teachers and staff lasts 2 to 60 days, as does staff mobility in higher education between EU Member States and the countries associated to the programme.
