For you

How it works for you

  • Your school or university applies to ANPCDEFP, the Romanian National Agency. Before you apply, we sign a letter of intent and send our organisation details for the application form.
  • Travel support follows the air distance to Warsaw, for learners, students and staff alike. Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Timișoara are all in the 500–1,999 km band: €309 per participant, or €417 with green travel.
  • Romania and Poland are in the same cost group, so students and recent graduates get the medium EU range for Poland: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship.
  • No visa: citizens of Romania travel with an ID card or passport. A stay of more than 3 months is registered in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw.
  • Participants bring the European Health Insurance Card for state healthcare. Accident and liability insurance at the workplace is required; we expect it from the sending organisation, and the Learning Agreement records it.
  • Participants work in English at the level their track recommends (A2–B2); Polish is needed only on the Polish translation track.
Questions

What we are asked about this

01 Which National Agency funds an Erasmus+ traineeship from Romania?

ANPCDEFP (Agenția Națională pentru Programe Comunitare în Domeniul Educației și Formării Profesionale) manages Erasmus+ in Romania, for vocational education and training and for higher education alike. Your school or university applies to it; we provide the letter of intent and our organisation details.

02 How much travel support do participants from Romania get?

For learners, students and staff alike, travel support follows the air distance from your school or university to Warsaw, measured with the European Commission’s distance calculator. Bucharest (≈ 945 km), Cluj-Napoca (≈ 635 km), Iași (≈ 735 km) and Timișoara (≈ 720 km) are in the 500–1,999 km band: €309 for the return journey, or €417 with green travel, which also pays up to 6 travel days instead of 2.

03 What monthly grant do students from Romania get in Poland?

Romania and Poland are both in the group with lower living costs, so students and recent graduates get the medium EU range: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship and €250 a month more for students with fewer opportunities. ANPCDEFP and your university publish the exact amounts.

04 Do participants from Romania need a visa for Poland?

No. Citizens of Romania enter Poland with an ID card or passport. For a stay of more than 3 months they register it in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw, no later than the day after 3 months from entry. For healthcare they bring the European Health Insurance Card.
