How is the Learning Agreement for Traineeships filled in?
The trainee, the sending institution and the host organisation all sign it before the traineeship starts. Table A sets out the traineeship programme, Table B the sending institution’s commitments and Table C the host’s. Changes during the traineeship go in Table A2, and the host issues a certificate within five weeks of the end.
Table A: the traineeship programme
Table A gives the start and end months, the traineeship title and the working hours per week, and says whether it is a traineeship in digital skills. It lists the knowledge, skills and competences the trainee will gain, and the language level agreed for the main language of work.
For a stay of 14 days or more, the trainee takes the Erasmus+ Online Language Support (OLS) assessment in that language before leaving, where OLS offers it, unless they are a native speaker or exempted for a good reason.
Tables B and C: the two organisations
In Table B the sending institution commits to recognising what the trainee learns. In Table C the host commits to mentoring, supervision and equipment, says whether it adds financial support or a contribution in kind, and promises a traineeship certificate within five weeks of the end.
Accident insurance and liability insurance at the workplace are the minimum cover; whichever organisation provides them records it in Table B or C.
Signatures and changes
All three parties sign before the traineeship starts. Paper originals are not required: scanned or electronic signatures may be accepted, depending on national law or the institution’s rules.
If the programme has to change during the traineeship, Table A stays as it was and the changes go in Table A2, which all three parties approve, by email if need be.
After the traineeship
The host sends the traineeship certificate (Table D) to the trainee and the sending institution, normally within five weeks. The sending institution then recognises the traineeship as agreed in Table B.
At MEYİS the mentor and the tasks come from the track the trainee joins, the working week is 35 to 40 hours, no salary is paid, and we expect the accident and liability insurance from the sending organisation.
What we are asked about this
01 Who signs the Learning Agreement for Traineeships?
The trainee, the sending institution and the receiving organisation, all three before the traineeship starts.
02 Can the Learning Agreement be signed electronically?
Yes, where national law or the institution’s rules allow it: the Commission accepts scanned or electronic signatures instead of paper originals.
03 What if the tasks change during the traineeship?
The changes are written in Table A2 and all three parties approve them; Table A itself is not changed.
04 When does the trainee get the traineeship certificate?
Normally within five weeks after the traineeship ends; the host sends it to the trainee and the sending institution.
