Erasmus+ traineeships in Warsaw for participants from Greece
Vocational schools and universities in Greece can send learners, students, graduates and staff to our office in central Warsaw. We sign what your application to IKY and the Learning Agreement need, and participants work with us in English.
- Athens to Warsaw: the 500–1,999 km travel band
- ≈ 1,600 km
- The monthly EU range for students, plus €150 on a traineeship
- €225–550
- An ID card is enough; stays over 3 months are registered
- No visa
How it works for you
- Your school or university applies to IKY, the State Scholarships Foundation, which is the National Agency for education and training in Greece. We sign a letter of intent for the application.
- For learners, students and staff alike, Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion are all in the 500–1,999 km travel band to Warsaw: €309 per participant, or €417 with green travel.
- Greece is in the medium-cost group and Poland in the lower-cost one, so students and recent graduates get the lower EU range: €225–550 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship.
- No visa: Greek citizens travel with an ID card or passport. A stay of more than 3 months is registered in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw.
- Participants bring the European Health Insurance Card. Accident and liability insurance at the workplace is required; we expect it from the sending organisation, and the Learning Agreement records it.
- Participants work in English at the level their track recommends (A2–B2); Polish is needed only on the Polish translation track.
What we are asked about this
01 Which National Agency funds an Erasmus+ traineeship from Greece?
IKY, the State Scholarships Foundation, is the Erasmus+ National Agency for higher education, vocational education and training, school and adult education in Greece. Your school or university applies to IKY; we provide the letter of intent and our organisation details.
02 How much travel support do participants from Greece get?
For learners, students and staff alike it follows the air distance from your school or university to Warsaw, measured with the European Commission’s distance calculator. Athens (≈ 1,600 km), Thessaloniki (≈ 1,295 km) and Heraklion (≈ 1,905 km) are in the 500–1,999 km band: €309 for the return journey, or €417 with green travel, which also pays up to 6 travel days instead of 2.
03 What monthly grant do students from Greece get in Poland?
Poland has lower living costs than Greece, so students and recent graduates get the lower EU range: €225–550 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship and €250 a month more for students with fewer opportunities. IKY and your university publish the exact amounts.
04 Do participants from Greece need a visa for Poland?
No. Citizens of Greece enter Poland with an ID card or passport. For a stay of more than 3 months they register it in person at the voivode’s office in Warsaw, no later than the day after 3 months from entry. They bring the European Health Insurance Card for healthcare.
