Erasmus+ traineeships in Warsaw for participants from North Macedonia

Vocational schools and universities in North Macedonia can send learners, students, graduates and staff to our office in central Warsaw. We sign what your application to NAEEPM, the Learning Agreement and a visa application need, and participants work with us in English.

For you

How it works for you

  • Your school or university applies to the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility (NAEEPM). We sign a letter of intent for the application and send our organisation details.
  • For learners, students and staff alike, Skopje and Bitola are in the 500–1,999 km travel band to Warsaw: €309 per participant, or €417 with green travel.
  • North Macedonia and Poland are in the same cost group, so students and recent graduates get the medium EU range: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship.
  • Citizens with a biometric passport can stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180 without a visa. Whether a traineeship counts as work under that rule is a question for the Polish embassy in Skopje: ask before participants book travel.
  • A traineeship longer than 90 days needs a Polish national visa (type D), valid for at most a year. We send each participant the acceptance letter, the Learning Agreement and our KRS extract for the application.
  • Participants work in English (A2–B2 depending on the track). Health insurance for the whole stay is arranged by the participant or the sending organisation, and accident and liability insurance at the workplace is recorded in the Learning Agreement.
Questions

What we are asked about this

01 Which National Agency funds an Erasmus+ traineeship from North Macedonia?

The National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility (NAEEPM) manages Erasmus+ in North Macedonia for every sector, including vocational education and training and higher education. Your school or university applies to it; we provide the letter of intent and our organisation details.

02 How much travel support do participants from North Macedonia get?

For learners, students and staff alike it follows the air distance from your school or university to Warsaw, measured with the European Commission’s distance calculator. Skopje (≈ 1,140 km) and Bitola (≈ 1,245 km) are in the 500–1,999 km band: €309 for the return journey, or €417 with green travel, which also pays up to 6 travel days instead of 2.

03 What monthly grant do students from North Macedonia get in Poland?

North Macedonia and Poland are both in the group with lower living costs, so the medium EU range applies: €292–606 a month, plus €150 a month on a traineeship and €250 a month more for students with fewer opportunities. NAEEPM and your university set the exact amounts.

04 Do participants from North Macedonia need a visa for Poland?

With a biometric passport they can travel to the Schengen area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180. The EU notes that people who intend to work during a short stay, or to stay longer than 90 days, need a visa and a work permit, so ask the Polish embassy in Skopje which visa a traineeship needs before booking. A stay of more than 90 days needs a Polish national visa (type D). ETIAS, the EU’s travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers, is not in operation yet; once it starts, participants travelling without a visa will need one.
